These tips will truly change the way you look at garment care.
Clothes hardly ever get worn out these days. Most clothes throw in the towel because they have been washed too often, or the wrong way. Failing laundry methods are also the most common reason clothes lose their shine and beauty. Consequently, our best advice to prolong clothing lifetime is to keep the content of your wardrobe away from the washing machine as long as possible. And, when you do do your laundry, do it right!
There are several methods to keep your clothes away from the laundry basket, here are some of our favorites:
The oldest trick in the book. Have you ever cleaned the lint trap in your dryer? Well, we have some news for you! The lint that is scraped off of a dryer’s lint trap after each load is visible evidence of the dryer shortening the life of your clothes.
Steaming is the new kid on the block. Well, at least in northern Europe, e.g. in Asia people have known about the benefits for a very long time. To steam clothes can be described as speed airing. The hot steam makes the fibers swell and regain their natural shape – it also recuses and kills bacteria. And of course, as a bonus, the creases and wrinkles disappear in a flash.
The Clothing Brush
A brush is a gentler alternative to a disposable plastic roller with sticky tape, it also has a much longer lifespan. The brush works on all kinds of fabrics.
How do I use the brush?
There’s really no way of doing it the wrong way. Just gently brush off shallow dirt, hairs and daily dust, etc. Buy a beautiful brush and make a habit of using it every day. Simple as that.
The nr. 1 rule when it comes to stains is: the sooner the better! Try to treat stains as soon as they appear. We recommend the following order: bile soap, stain removing solutions, oxi spray, detergents with surfactants (suitable for handwashing). Treat the stain and leave to soak in for a few minutes, then use a lukewarm sponge and pad out the remains of product and hopefully the actual stain.
Apply your preferred bacteria culture. Taking care of your wardrobe has never been easier. Just put your garments on hangers, spray the mist directly on the fabrics, and TA-DAH – your clothes are ready to use again.
Armpit Care (Bonus Tip)
Consider what kind of deodorant you’re using, not just to avoid yellow marks; think of your health and wellbeing too. Most conventional deodorants contain a list of toxic ingredients, such as aluminum chloralhydrate, parabens, propylene glycol and triclosan, among other questionable ones. Aluminum exposure has also been linked to other health issues that affect the liver, kidneys and the brain.
